Aloha my name is Jason Ladera and I am not the best with words, but Laura is worth trying somethig new like making this Yelp review. Our ohana was almost completely destroyed by the failures of the Family Court here onKauai & the agencies that were supposed to help us: KPD, CWS and a GAL did the opposite: they enabled the abuse and it still continues today. When Laura came on board, she spoke gently and with compassion to my keiki, wanting to hear their stories first. She was so kind and open, both of my keiki opened up to her almost immediately about their abuse and their concerns that their voices weren't being heard let alone believed. She then worked with me almost if if she was a therapist; she listened to me an encouraged me to keep fighting for the safety and welfare for my keiki despite the obvious corruption we continue to face. My keiki are workth it; all keiki are worth having basic safety and their needs met. Laura Miller is more than a victim advocate and law expert; she actually CARES. Her efforts are beyond what she charged; I think she should charge more than a lot of these lawyers because she gets RESULTS, studies the law nation wide and is very involved in child welfare reform here in Hawaii. Words can't express the gratitude our entire Ohana feels towards Laura; my only regret is not finding her sooner in my case, which would have saved  all of us so much unnecessare trauma.
